Elana Gilbert – Owner
After receiving her Diploma of Fitness in 2001, she expanded her knowledge in 2012 by studying and working in Beauty Therapy (completed with distinction specializing in skin anatomy and physiology). Since then, she had furthered her education by studying and receiving qualifications in fitness and nutrition as she believed that the optimal health comes from all aspects of health and beauty.
Elana has owned and run an organic beauty salon in Tokyo since 2009 and has worked with her husband and brother at their health club, Club 360. Her greatest achievement though is being a Mum to her son Max. If she thought she was busy before, now time management is definitely more of a puzzle!
Hiroko Ueda – Beauty Therapist
Hiroko is our assistant manager at Elana Jade. She is a beauty therapist and did her beauty therapy qualification in Australia at the Australian College of Natural Therapies in 2008.
Hiroko likes to discover and visit nice hot springs, watching movies and traveling. Originally from Nara prefecture, which is a very old historical city in Japan, she is now a mother of a little boy Yuhki and is loving every moment of it!
Mika Oomura – Beauty Therapist
Mika is one of our beauty therapist whom trained in beauty therapy in Australia. She loves exploring new places around the world and has already visited over 10 countries (her favourite being Margaret River in Western Australia).
Mika is from Shiga prefecture, which is just outside of Kyoto and loves to travel back there to see her family whenever she can.
Keina Suwa – Beauty Therapist
After working in a beauty salon in Japan, I then went to Australia to work and study beauty, then graduated with an International Diploma of Beauty Therapy (CIDESCO and CIBTAC). After graduating, I worked at a Beauty Spa on anUnited States cruise ship.
When I came back to Japan in 2009, started working at Elana Jade. A couple of years later, I fell pregnant and so I left to have a couple of babies before returning again in 2016. 🙂
I really love my job as beauty therapist and thankful for Elana let me to come back!
Maki Watanabe – Eyelash Therapist
Maki had received beautician’s license but decided to go to eyelash school because she more interested in this side of the beauty industry. She would be very happy to help your ‘Beauty!
She has three children and also enjoys relaxing in her private time!
Shie Yonemura – Nail Technician
Shie studied to be a manicurist in Australia. She loved staying by the sea and enjoyed diving in Australia so much.
She received a Manicurist of Australian government certificate in 2007 and Grade 1 in the Japan manicurist practical test in 2006.
She does kick-boxing and swimming for her health. Her hobby is watching sports games!
